Kristen Purcell

Senior Vice President, SSRS

For more than two decades, Kristen has designed impactful and groundbreaking research for nonprofit, private and government partners. She has worked on a wide range of topics including health care and reproductive rights, the impact of social media, attitudes toward climate change and sustainability and emerging consumer issues such as product repairability and insurance deserts.  Kristen approaches all projects with rigor, innovative thinking and keen attention to the participant experience. She particularly enjoys helping clients articulate both short- and long-term research needs and developing strategic approaches with the flexibility to meet both. She is a strong believer in mixed methods approaches to get at both the “what” and the “why” of human behavior and attitudes.  Kristen earned a Ph.D. in Sociology at Rutgers University, where she studied the intersection of media and culture. Her career has included stints at several top research organizations, including Pew Research Center and Mathematica Policy Research. Most recently, she led the research and analytics division at Consumer Reports.
