Improving well-being in research: The AURA Working Well Together Charter (panel discussion)

How clients and agencies work together can affect not only the quality of the work but peoples’ well-being. With a goal to mitigate pressure points that can lead to stress and overwork, AURA has created the Working Well Together Charter. Join a panel of client-side researchers and agencies as they discuss how following The Charter’s six key principles will improve well-being for people working in our industry.

The Working Well Together is a voluntary code devised following extensive consultation with AURA members and research agencies but open to everyone working in client-side research. Built around six key principles, it contains practical steps designed to minimize project pressure points. Following these will lead to more effective, efficient and fair working behaviors which will, in turn, deliver better outcomes and help reduce stress. The panel discussion will be hosted by AURA Chair Ruth Hinton and Suzanne Lugthart, who will be joined by Steven Darby, Leeds Building Society, Libby Eastwood, UKHSA and Nick Bonney, Deep Blue Thinking.

Key takeaways:

  1. Guidelines for client-side researchers when commissioning research.
  2. A set of principles for client-side researchers to follow in order to treat their agencies fairly throughout the duration of a project.
  3. Identifying and reducing the pressure points in the collaborative agency-client research process that lead to stress and uncertainty.
